NES Games Jameson and I Beat #54: Lifeforce

So today while on our trip to the Midwest Classic Gaming Expo, Jameson and I played and beat the difficult Lifeforce, an earlier space shooter title for NES by Konami.
Much similar to Gradius, there's a power up weapon system for gathering the orbs left behind when a cluster of enemies is defeated. There's a speed boost, missile, a wavy beam, an option which fires an additional shot for your ship. One death and it all reverts back so you have to be very careful dodging which is actually incredibly difficult to do given there are obstacles and enemies everywhere. With two players and the code it's significantly easier as you have 4 continues and 30 lives each but you still have to focus intently and plan your deaths carefully to make it through the 6 levels.
All of the levels and atmosphere is bodily themed including the brain, spine, intestines, etc. the bosses are themed as such too, one being even being a giant horrifying skull.
So basically it's a really fun and challenging two player coop shooter that is a lot of fun and is classic early Konami! Good shit 8/10, glad to have beat it here with my friend Jameson!
